Serving communities since 1997, Udgam Charitable Trust is committed to grassroots development, youth empowerment, and rural welfare in India.
Managing Trustee of Udgam leading grassroots community empowerment.
Certified 80G, 12A NGO serving under Registration No. E/11249.
Udgam Charitable Trust began its journey in 1997 under the guidance of Dr. Ganpatrai Joshi, a dedicated Gandhian and freedom fighter who envisioned a youth body committed to nation-building and service. Over the last 27+ years, the organization has expanded to cover multiple states and touch thousands of lives through deep, impactful development programs.
From leading comprehensive relief, rescue, and rehabilitation operations in Kutch during the 2001 Gujarat earthquake to signing partnerships at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (including a recent MoU with Mozambique's Chamber of Commerce) and collaborating with leaders like Zoho Corporation's Sridhar Vembu and Taj Hotels, Udgam bridges grassroots efforts with global support networks.
Service directed at the ultimate benefit of the last member of society (Antyodaya).
Direct community involvement driving sustainable developmental projects.
Discover how Udgam addresses multidimensional challenges across youth leadership, girls' education, and rural healthcare.
India is home to the world's largest youth population, a demographic strength with real power to shape the country's future. Udgam's youth initiative, Utsaah, brings rural young people together as a platform for leadership, skill-building, and community action — turning that energy into lasting change.
Discrimination against the girl child in India often begins before birth, and female foeticide remains a deeply rooted problem. National and international research on child rights continues to point to how many girls are affected by this imbalance. Udgam works at the grassroots to shift these attitudes, promoting education and equal opportunity for every girl child.
Udgam works toward a society where women stand as true equals — socially, economically, and legally. Despite progress, crimes and discrimination against women remain widespread across the country, as national crime data continues to show. Through skill-building, awareness, and community support, Udgam helps women reclaim their voice, safety, and independence.
A significant share of India's children face some degree of malnutrition, and unsafe water continues to drive preventable illnesses like diarrhoea and respiratory infection, especially among the young. Udgam's health and sanitation programs focus on clean water access, hygiene awareness, and nutrition support to give every child a healthier start in life.
Udgam's rapid response team delivers rescue operations, emergency relief kits, and long-term infrastructure restoration during earthquakes, floods, and cyclones. This expertise was built during our extensive Kutch relief project in 2001, supported by national figures.
Formally established under current leadership in Gandhinagar, setting the path for grassroots youth mobilization and institutional structure.
Led relief missions inside Kutch. Supported by Delhi Chief Minister Dr. Sahib Singh Verma and local volunteers to reconstruct homes and clean schools.
Initiated microcredit programs and vocational training centers to foster financial independence among rural women.
Launched mobile computer labs and digital classrooms across schools in Sector-8 and rural areas of Gandhinagar.
Signed an MoU with Mozambique's Chamber of Commerce at the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit. Met with Zoho Corporation's Sridhar Vembu and collaborated with Taj Gandhinagar for CSR campaigns.
